Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 28, 2025
YourBen.ch provides a quiet space for private reflection. Your conversations stay yours. This policy explains how we protect your privacy.
1. What We Collect
We collect minimal information to provide your bench:
- Email address: For account access and essential communications
- Conversation fragments: Abstract contextual patterns (themes, not personal details or identifiable information)
- Technical data: Basic information needed to keep the service running (timestamps, session data)
Important: We do not store complete conversation histories or personally identifiable details from your conversations. After conversations are processed, only abstract fragments (thematic context, not specific facts about you) are retained. Full conversation content, including names, places, dates, and personal information, is purged.
2. Where Your Data Lives
Everything stays in Switzerland:
- Your conversations are stored on Swiss servers
- Protected under Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP)
- Subject to Swiss jurisdiction and privacy standards
- We do not transfer your data outside Switzerland
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your data only to:
- Provide your quiet space
- Keep your conversations accessible to you
- Ensure the service functions properly
- Communicate essential service updates
We do not:
- Sell your data
- Share your conversations with third parties
- Use your data for advertising
- Track you across other websites
- Analyze your conversations for commercial purposes
4. Your Rights
Under Swiss and EU data protection law, you have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and conversations
- Correction: Update your information
- Export: Receive your data in a portable format
- Object: Object to processing of your data
To exercise these rights, contact us at thebench26@gmail.com
5. Data Security
We protect your information through:
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure Swiss hosting infrastructure
- Access controls and authentication
- Regular security reviews
No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your privacy.
6. Data Retention
We minimize data retention:
- Email and account data: Kept while your account is active
- Conversation fragments: Abstract thematic context (patterns, not personal identifiable details)
- Full conversations: Purged after processing—including all names, dates, places, and specific personal information
When you delete your account, we remove all your data (email, fragments, and session information) within 30 days.
What are fragments? Think of them as themes or patterns, not a transcript. They provide continuity without storing what you actually said or specific details about your life.
7. Cookies and Tracking
We use minimal technical cookies necessary for:

- Remembering your preferences
- Ensuring the service functions
We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking.
